Spring, birdsong, an amorous cat,
the sounds and smells are pleasing
to the senses
the early morning preparation
for the rest of the day
after half a night of sleep
is much easier
when the weather's good
and the promise sweeter
I will shower, shave, and do the other things
that I must do
before I go to work
and none of them will bother me
today
